I opted for the analog tuner card because my cable set-top box only outputs an analog signal. Anything else would have been overkill. Obviously, if you have any HDTV signal sources, it’d be best to replace this with a HDTV capable card – I don’t have any experience with them yet so I can’t comment on compatibility though. Thanks.

Your research, build and testing is greatly appreciated. The one thing I wonder about is the tuner card being analog and not HDTV capable.
